Saw Andrew at Stroud last Saturday night - a big room, high stage and just 85 people in - expected a lot more - small pa which didn't help create an atmosphere and the venue gave no thought to the layout as, instead of having cabaret style tables which would have filled the space they put chairs linked together in rows which just exaggerated how few people were there.

Was looking forward to the show as been a fan of Mr Lawrence for some time - started off ok, announced himself onto the stage with a bit of speel for about three minutes before he took to the stage properly - did some banter material, had to mention how few people were in, bit of a go re the town, did about 20 mins of reasonable stuff then launched into various rants for the next 40 minutes or so of which very few were actually that funny.

The second half followed a similar pattern, started off well but then went downhill and the main rant was aimed at his facebook post a few years ago which resulted in him losing credibility with the BBC and also some fellow stand ups - really disappointing as he clearly is a talented stand up but he's become bitter and twisted and not sure how he's going to, if indeed he wants to, get back to where he was.

He got laughs and the majority of people there appreciated him - i was just expecting a lot more and it simply didn't deliver.
