In between people posting pointless comments about acts they haven't even seen, others posting up bits of comic's sets (out of order IMHO) and sometimes people asking questions which should be other parts of the site, the "Comedians" forum is becoming useless.

I know, as a sometime promoter, that opinions on there have always needed to be taken with a pinch of salt, as there's often a fair bit of mutual backslapping, but it always used to be a fairly decent resource for gaining a second or third opinion on new(er) acts or even circuit regulars, at the moment it's an annoying mess.

Not sure what the answer is, perhaps moderating comments like the one's on people's Chortle pages?

Anyway, just wanted to get that off my chest.

I've got to say unless I hear to the contrary from a source I trust I don't believe Phil Slab exists, that is apart from being one of George Cottier's Chortle aliases.

In the absence of the old "I'm with stupid" emoticon: hear hear Mr Cowards.

The mutual backslapping is awful on those forums.

I can handle the "mutual backslapping", as I take views from people I don't know, or haven't heard of, with a large dose of salt, however pointless knobendery is just rendering the section as useless as the rest of the forum (with the exception of "Industry").

It would be helpful to have a response from Chortle about this. It really has gone on too long now.
