MCing the other day I was made aware, by the opening act, that I was overdoing it a little with the cheering thing, so after the interval I went on and said...

"Give me a cheer if you think I've been overdoing it with the whole 'Give me a cheer' thing!"...

Seeing how much people like him makes me want to stop writing jokes and start doing impressions of racial stereotypes instead.

I can see what you mean. Although, from this clip, I've seen worst stereotypes paraded on the UK comedy circuit. Also, from another clip I saw on YouTube, this guy says that his parents are something like first generation Latin American/Spanish (sorry can't remember now the exact background) and alot of his comedy seems to come from his family background. Obviously this doesn't mean that he doesn't pander to stereotypes but it does imply that he's drawing upon his own real life experiences in a way that others using stereotypes might not be doing. But I've only seen a couple of short clips of his material. For all I know he could be a Jim Davidson type.

He's a good impressionist who uses weak material to crowbar the impressions into a performance. The fact that punters can say "he's a good stand up" genuinely offends me because I really don't feel that what he's doing is stand up. It's very different.

Pablo Francisco does a really spot on impression of a material thieving hack. Still, tis subjective.

He just uses stereo types, tho he is mexican - typical:roll:

Fair enough, Nik P. That's why I mentioned that, of course, we are all unique literally. I just don't like people using the excuse of being unique for not being funny, and looking down on people who perform comedy just to make people laugh.

did you mean to descibe Stewart Lee or was it just the way the words fell
,the way the words.........fell ....do you think ....you know the words falling ...the way they did,was it just that

I move to ban any gag that ends on the word Mother...onless uttered by Johnny Sorrow ,hes the exception that proves the rule
