Someone half-jokingly suggested a while back that the open mic circuit should have its own sub-forum, to stop the industry forum being clogged with debates about pay-to-play, etc; is this something that could be seriously looked into, do you think? Recently there's been a couple of instances of open mic comics posting asking for gigs and being shot down... It's clear that there's two distinct types of act using Chortle for gigs - might it be helpful to give them separate spaces?

Just a thought...

Pete

Anyone else remember the days when Chortle was just "a bitching shop for open spots"....? Well, us shit acts were here first!

Maybe the industry forum will stop "being clogged with debates about pay-to-play" when Chortle has a policy of preventing people OPENLY and SHAMELESSLY advertising pay-to-play gigs there as though if one has totally brazen disresepect towards one's potential employees that somehow makes it somehow okay. Actually I haven't seen any for a while so moaning about it must be working.

They have a separate whore yourself stupid section on the MCF for people advertising diary gaps - I believe it works quite well. The forum could have a sticky on it asking people not to fill it with crap...?
