| I'd be really interested to hear from any Dyspraxic / Discalculiac comedians or performers out there. I have a child who has been diagnosed recently with both - and she's in her teens, struggled terribly at school always but due to lack of awareness of both conditions has not received much support. And predictably i've had to fight tooth and nail to get to this point of an actual diagnosis - a statement seems almost impossible in these times of Government funding austerity. A few charity organisations exist but could certainly do with their profile being raised and of course cash being generated to fund. Searching Google there seems to be some very high profile celebrities with dyspraxia but i can only reason that as it's a neurological condition the taboo with the association exists. I aim to live in a time when Dyspraxia and Discalculia are recognised in the same way as we all understand Dyslexia. Any one who thinks they can help in any way, i'm all ears - email me resisttheglamour@hotmail.co.uk and i'll get back to you. Thankyou x |
