The scottish equivalent of Ned has existed for decades and will always raise a laugh when used in the right context there. English Chavs look posh compared to Neds and wouldn't stand a chance in an attire naff-ness contest.

If you are observational chances are you have observed something that everyone has experienced (that's what makes it funny) and if some other people have observed it too then a comedian will have mentioned it.

I think that unless you are a psychodelic comedian or make jokes that no one will get except for their obsurdity then you will be doing something someone would describe as hack.

The thing is we all know airline food is appaling, we know check in queues are frustrating and we know that supermarket staff are morons. But what we don't already know is your personal opinion on it.

I would say, in answer to the origianal question posted that yes you can be hack doing original observational jokes, but life is hack so it's ok x

hack subject are fairly universal, as its been said already. I would argue that hack subject can be use but try to introduct a new slant on them, a different point of view. For the sake of building repour or even as a warm up start with common subjects.

I dont see a problem with any subject a comedian uses as long as he/she is funny. I dont go in for that he didnt talk about politics he not a very good comedian or he only talked about differences between men and women..........Voice an opinion but make people laugh and think, its a skill only a few people have.
