Attack on 'grubby' comics who swear
Quote:
Vic Reeves has blasted Frankie Boyle in the ongoing debate about swearing in comedy.

The Shooting Stars host branded foul-mouthed comics ‘grubby and lazy’, adding that he thinks there is far too much swearing on telly.

He told The Sun ‘It’s really easy to do dirty jokes and swear for a laugh but it’s a lot more difficult to do clean stuff.

‘People should find other ways to be funny. If you need to use coarse language, why not invent it?”

Of Boyle, Vic said he had no place on Mock The Week. ‘Frankie would be better off in a working men’s club,’ he said. ‘No one’s shocked any more.’

I think it works quite well with Russell Howard being the Light, whimsical side and Frankie being the Dark side. It keeps it at a nice balance.

And there was no swearing in Vic Reeves' radio 2 sitcom (the last thing i saw/ heard him do) and yet that was really poor.

Sounds like somebody envies Frankie's considerable gag writing skills. Last time I checked, Frankie Boyle didn't have to rely on Kitchen utensil's to get laughs.
