Britain dominates international TV awards
Quote:
Britain is dominating international TV comedy with 17 out of the 22 nominees for the prestigious Rose d’Or award in the category coming from the UK.

For best sitcom, Denmark’s Kristian is the only non-British show out of the nine to make the shortlist.

The others are FM, Home Time, Krod Mandoon, Outnumbered, Pete Vs Life, Psychoville, The Inbetweeners and This Is Jinsy.

The award for best comedy has a wider spread, with shows from Belgium, Germany, Finland and Australia (John Safran's Race Relations) in the running.

But again these are up against a predominantly British field, comprising the C4 Comedy Gala, Facejacker, the Frankie Boyle Show (yet to be aired on Channel 4), La La Land, Russell Howard’s Good News, School Of Comedy, The Armstrong And Miller Show, the Impressions Show with Culshaw and Stephenson and the Kevin Bishop Show.

Other awards are given in categories including soap opera, reality and factual entertainment and arts and documentary.

The 50th Rose d'Or festival will take place in the Swiss city of Lucerne from 18 to 22 September.
