They will join Nicholas Hoult, Bernard Hill and Michael Fassbender – as well as returning actors Zoe Wanamaker and Stephen Fry – in the third installment of the role-playing saga.
Pegg will voice an attention-seeking soldier named Benn Finn, while Cleese plays Jasper, pictured, a butler who guides the players along their journey to dethrone a tyrannical ruler.
Peter Molyneux, the creative director of Microsoft Game Studios Europe, said: ‘These people have really never come together before in any medium. For a lot of them, this is their first computer game they've ever done.’
