Did a search and couldn't find anything on him - saw him at Monkey Business on Friday for the first time. Great piece of character comedy, maybe a bit hit & miss but overall very funny.

I saw Sol Bernstein at Iguana bar Manchester a few months ago. It's the kind of place where you have to grab the crowd by the balls or you'll fall flat. He tore the place apart & admittedly we genuinely believed he was a 50's Jazz circuit comic recently come out of retirement.

He kept in character throughout the evening making rapscallionesque comments to women of all ages (generally young) who in turn loved every minute of it, discussing his lengthy career touring with Diz & Bird across the world!

Shook up the room and gave the headliner a very hard act to follow. To this date he remains the only act I've receive a 2nd standing ovation, a good 45 minutes after his set, as he was leaving the venue! Had to be seen to be believed..

His was the act that spurred me into getting off my arse & into stand-up.

Sol Bernstein, in Manchester we salute you.

I've seen him twice. The first time he was so great, my parents booked him for my Dad's 50th birthday party a couple of months later. He absolutely stormed. Well, he WAS performing to a room full of middle-aged and elderly Jews, so it was somewhat inevitable he would, but everyone loved him nonetheless. Cheers, Sol.

He's awesome. I've seen him twice - both times at XS Malarkey. He was wonderful. I prefer him to the great Rodney Dangerfield. I laughed so much that, according to Spider, I roared.

Saw Sol for the first time ever on Tuesday night and he floored me. Hilarious, beautiful, giant gut laughs. Going to see him again tomorrow night just to prove to myself that he's real and not some fevered substance induced dream I had...

Sol, my favourite showbiz pal!! Very Happy WOW, I've always been a fan but he just stomped on expectations when after 4 acts, 2hr:45 mins of comedy, he went on stage and just as they say "tore it up", "ripped off the roof", "stormed it". This audience had been horribly tough to get a response from all night but Sol grabbed them when they should have been tired and wanting to go home.
The man is simply amazing, unbelievably funny material, unrivalled stagecraft and that extra little something that just made him shine on that stage. He was only the second ever headliner we've had that's been called back for an encore, the first being the amazing Tim Vine. I think they'd have had him stay there for hours if they could.

Simply the best!

Was lucky enough to be open spot monkey to a bill that was headlined by Sol last night - top notch stuff, fantastically funny. I'm glad I stuck around after my set to watch him, would recommend him to anyone. Great.

Sol headlined the comedy crusader in march.

The funniest act I have seen in a long long time, his 45 mins flew by. Only one of a few headliners I'd book again.

And off stage one of the nicest blokes in comedy if not the world.

Sol rocks

Class act. A real education to watch him work the room in Rugby recently. And agreed, a really nice bloke.

I have to echo every sentiment here - and he's a damnably nice bloke to boot!

Saw him for the first time recently, never heard of him before. My loss, he was awesome. He's what Jackie Mason should be if he kept with the times. And was extremely nice to me, especially seeing as I was but a lowley open spot to his comedy mastermind.

Keep it up Sol/Steve.

I was on the same bill as Sol at Iguana Bar & Xs Malarkey. He's was amazing on both nights. A true character that is 100% pure entertainment & worth paying the admission price, just to see him. Also, Steve is such a great bloke, very modest, supportive to new acts & you won't meet anyone who is a witty as Sol. Promoters book him & fans of comedy watch him.
