Comic sets agenda on New Year's Eve

Stewart Lee is to be the guest editor of Radio 4's flagship current affairs show Today on New Year's Eve.

For the past eight years, the morning programme has handed over its daily agenda to guest editors between Boxing Day and New Year's Eve.

Others taking part this yearare Tracey Emin, Lord Coe, former chairman of Lloyds, Sir Victor Blank and former House of Commons speaker Baroness Boothroyd.

Ceri Thomas, editor of Today, said: 'The wonderful thing about the guest editors is that they bring us new thoughts and new perspectives. This year's line-up will surprise us and our listeners.'.
