And acting award for Jennifer Saunders
Quote:
Mrs Brown’s Boys has been named best sitcom, beating nominees Rev and Fresh Meat.

The BBC One show has been a hit with audience, if not always with critics, and collecting his award, star Brendan O’Carroll said: ‘This is amazing. All we wanted to do was make people laugh and it seems to have worked.’

The comedy performance awards went to Jennifer Saunders for the return of Absolutely Fabulous, and Darren Boyd for Sky One’s Spy.

And Keith Lemon’s Celebrity Juice won the audience award category.

The ceremony was hosted by Dara O Briain who told the audience he was only there because he sounded ‘exactly the same’ as usual presenter Graham Norton, who was absent because of his duties with the Eurovision Song Contest.

Norton’s own show won the best entertainment award.

Here is Mrs Brown's Boys taking the award:

I guess the audience know more about comedy than the so called critics who snubbed it, Well done to Brendan and I so hope to see Agnus polishing the BAFTA in the next series.

I have to ask, because I'm confused.

Do you know what a critic does? They like some things and don't like others and they tell you about it. You seem to be under the impression that everyone should like the same things as you.

Not sure how you figure that one out but hey oh, I am genuinely pleased that it won a BAFTA and I think that MBB would have won a few other awards as well if it had not have been snubbed.
