|Duncan 'Chase Me' Norvelle hospitalised
|Duncan Norvelle, the Eighties comedian famous for his catchphrase ‘chase me’, is recovering after a stroke.
The 54-year-old suffered paralysis down his left side and has been in hospital for nine weeks, his manager Tony Jo said.
The comic - known for his camp come-ons – has cancelled a summer season with Cannon and Ball in Blackpool, Skegness and Scarborough.
Jo added that he could be discharged in the next two to three weeks.
Fellow stars will throw a benefit gig for him at the Blackpool Grand theatre in October.
Jo told the BBC: ‘We'll have a benefit show for him and we've got some wristbands done with “Chase me” on them. We'll set up a trust to pay all his bills while he's off and hopefully he'll be back at work next year.’
Norvelle was last seen on TV in Celebrity Come Dine With Me in December, alongside Sean Hughes, Gina Yashere and Paul Tonkinson.
